Job Summary

The Participation and Learning (P&L) Manager is responsible for managing and delivering high quality formal and informal learning experiences for audiences of all ages. This is done through various platforms, including onsite across our venues, in the community and online.

Job Description

This is a full-time, fixed term (12 months) contract working 37.5 hours per week. The salary level is £30,000 - £32,000 pa (dependent on experience)

The postholder will manage the P&L team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a key role in re-shaping the P&L programme and team going forwards. You will be a confident, motivated, self-starter with significant experience of working within a cultural/charitable institution. You will have a proven track record of project and budget management and good knowledge of current developments in formal and non-formal learning. You will have a strong commitment to increasing diversity, inclusion and to widening participation opportunities for people in Cumbria, coupled with the drive and imagination to create and develop a sustainable and outstanding participation programme.

Job Responsibilities

  • Day to day operational responsibility for the high-quality delivery of Participation and Learning programmes: planning and scheduling, developing and delivering high quality content, managing Creative Producers and external contractor/s where appropriate and working collaboratively across the Lakeland Arts (LA) team.
  • Programme and deliver exciting participation opportunities that engage participants, artists, partners and audiences in ways that are inspired by and relevant for our local communities, our collections and locations.
  • Operational responsibility for managing the P&L Team and ensuring the team delivers against the new Lakeland Arts Strategy.
  • Working with teams across Lakeland Arts to support the delivery of one of the key strategic objectives 'Reaching Wider'. Broadening and increasing our audiences through the creation of meaningful experiences across our sites, engaging people and developing audiences.
