Job Summary

Gifted Classes offers dynamic Performing Arts Workshops, collaborating with various educational institutions to inspire young people aged 7 to 18. Our programs ignite creativity, build confidence, and foster talent, making art accessible and enriching for every participant.

Job Description

We are currently seeking lead dance educators and assistants to conduct our creative workshops in Drama, Physical Theatre, and Music. It is preferable that candidates are located in Brixton, Peckham, or the surrounding areas.

Job Requirements

QUALITIES OF OUR POTENTIAL AMBASSADORS:

  • a recognised Dance qualification or equivalent in professional experience
  • Knowledge of varied dance styles and genres
  • Experience in leading workshops within primary, secondary, or higher education environments will be highly valued.
  • Candidates who have obtained QTS through a PGCE, Graduate Teaching Program (GTP), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), QTLS, or a suitable overseas qualification will be prioritised.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the performing arts
  • We are looking for driven individuals who are dedicated to fostering the growth and potential of others.
  • A strong commitment to timekeeping
  • Willing to grow, learn and adapt to a fast pace and thriving environment.
  • Proficiency in managing classrooms of 15 students

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • Proof of Enhanced DBS Certificate (If not this can be applied for)
  • Confirmation that you are on the DBS Update Ser

Job Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To evaluate the progress of all students' engagement throughout the workshops.
  • Understanding of the LAMDA syllabus to assist heads of departments in exam preparation.
  • Ability to lead a workshop and rehearsals in preparation for a theatre performance.
  • Supporting the dynamics within the classroom and providing performance reports on each student once every fortnight.
  • Liaising with staff to ensure a high level of communication during the term of each contract.
  • Providing availability to undergo on-boarding measures and training protocols such as CRB checks, safe guarding, health & safety and curriculum implementations.
  • Expressing an attitude of excellence to engage and encourage a fun and interactive environment for the students.
  • To establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/ carers to gather and report information as instructed for the progress of the students.
