Job Description

Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that loves and looks after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. The palaces are the setting for the stories that shape us all, and we're bringing them to people in ways that mean more to them. We want everyone to find themselves in the spaces and stories we share.

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator who will work with our Payroll team to provide a professional service to all staff in the areas of payroll, employee benefits and employee taxes, enabling Historic Royal Palaces to have the highest standards of compliance in these areas.

General payroll duties will include calculating and issuing pay, deducting tax and NI, processing holiday, sick and maternity pay, setting up rotas, plus calculating overtime, shift payments and pay changes.

The successful candidate will have a positive approach to work, be a great team player and ensure that customer service is always at the forefront of their decision-making process. The ability and desire to 'get it right first time' is crucial to this role as is the ability to follow processes and work to deadlines so a systematic and structured approach is essential.

Solid knowledge of MS software packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and competence with spreadsheets - ideally V-look Up and Pivot Tables - are required. You will be comfortable working with numbers and be able to apply logic to complex calculations, so some financial knowledge and interest are needed to be successful. Previous experience of payroll systems is essential with knowledge of iTrent (Midland HR) ideal.
