About the role:

As a Performing Arts Technician, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical support for our specialist Performing Arts facilities. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and compliance of our equipment, setting up technical resources for lessons and events, delivering technical demonstrations, and providing specialised support to our vibrant community of students and staff.

What You'll do:

  • Collaborate with our Health & Safety team to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Set up technical resources for lessons and events both on campus and at external venues.
  • Deliver engaging technical demonstrations to support curriculum delivery.
  • Maintain and manage our inventory of technical equipment.
  • Conduct routine checks and low-level maintenance of technical equipment.
  • Support the induction and training of students, staff, and lecturers on the safe and effective use of our facilities.

This is a part time role based on working 15 hours per week on a rota basis to include evenings & weekends.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working in the performing arts industry or relevant specialist education provider.
  • A competent understanding and application of performing arts facilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of our dynamic environment.
  • Competent digital literacy.
