Our excellence was recognised by the 2025 QS World University Rankings, in which we were ranked as the global No. 1 institution for both Music and Performing Arts. The College has held this world-leading place in Performing Arts for four successive years, while Music is a new subject introduced to the rankings in 2024.

To support the continued growth and strategic ambitions of the Royal College of Music, we are seeking to appoint an experienced and driven Philanthropy Manager (Trusts & Foundations) to join our dynamic Development & Alumni Engagement team.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

- You are a results-driven professional with a strong track record of securing five- to six-figure gifts from charitable trusts and foundations. Your ability to develop and manage high-value donor relationships sets you apart.

- You bring strategic vision and practical expertise, with experience of working towards ambitious income targets and KPIs within a fundraising environment. You thrive in cultivating meaningful, long-term partnerships that align with institutional priorities.

Job Requirements

  • A relevant degree, or equivalent experience
  • Successful track record of achieving six-figure+ support from trusts & foundations
  • Experience of working to ambitious KPIs and financial targets
  • A track record in identifying and maintaining external relationships with trustees
  • Experience of strategic work and/or prospect research
  • Experience of working within a fundraising campaign would be advantageous
  • Systematic approach to fundraising, with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent writing skills, including experience of writing funding applications and reports
  • IT literate with knowledge of relationship databases and supporter schemes
  • Understanding of Gift Aid and other tax effective giving mechanisms
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills
  • The ability to facilitate and co-ordinate the work of others to achieve common goals
