Are you passionate about dance and inspiring young children? babyballet York & Selby is looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing Dance Teacher to join our growing team. We are an award-winning preschool dance school, delivering fun, engaging and high-quality classes to children aged 6 months to 6 years. You'll initially train and shadow an experienced babyballet teacher while supporting the launch of our new Easingwold classes. From November 2026, you'll take the lead in delivering classes independently, helping little ones develop confidence, coordination and a love of movement in a fun and supportive environment. As our school continues to expand, there will be opportunities for additional teaching hours across York and Selby from January 2027 onwards. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with young children, enjoys performing and dancing, and wants to make a positive impact during children's early years. We offer a paid induction and training programme, ongoing support, flexible freelance work and the chance to become part of a friendly, passionate and award-winning team. Hours: Saturday mornings (4 hours) Pay: £18 per babyballet class plus £5 per tap class (approximately £82 for a Saturday morning) Even if Easingwold isn't the ideal location for you, we'd still love to hear from you as more opportunities are expected across the York and Selby area. Aged 18+ Desirable: Dance teaching qualification, Full driving licence and access to a car, Enhanced DBS certificate, First Aid qualification, Safeguarding training Support can be provided to obtain DBS, First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications. Ballet training to at least Intermediate level
Tap dance experience
Dance teaching and/or performance experience
Confident working with children aged 6 months to 6 years
Energetic, engaging and enthusiastic
Patient, caring and nurturing
Professional, reliable and organised
Able to lead classes independently following training
Available on Saturday mornings

Create a welcoming, positive and nurturing environment for every child and family
Follow the babyballet syllabus, teaching methods and brand standards
Support an experienced teacher during the training and induction period
Lead classes independently once training is complete
Encourage children's confidence, creativity, coordination and enjoyment of dance
Build positive relationships with parents, carers and venue staff
Arrive prepared and on time, ensuring classes run smoothly and professionally
Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate any concerns to the school principal
Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and company policies at all times
