We are seeking a Head of Lighting for Pride the Musical at The Bridge Theatre. The ideal candidate will have significant professional experience in an equivalent role on a large-scale commercial musical.

Job title: Head of Lighting
Responsible for: Deputy Head of Lighting and Lighting Technician
Reports to: Company Stage Manager
Salary: SOLT/BECTU minimum
Probationary Period: 12 weeks
Contract: Initially fixed term, thereafter open-ended for the life of the production. Performances are 6 days per week, evening and weekend work will be required
Terms and conditions: As per the SOLT/BECTU agreement
Start date: Thursday 22nd October and no later than Monday 2nd November 2026
Location: Bridge Theatre, London
Performance schedule: Monday to Saturday evening performances (at 7:30pm) and 2:30pm matinees on Thursday and Saturday.

Job Responsibilities

Running the day-to-day management of the Lighting department;

Liaising with Company Stage Management, resident creative team members, technical heads of department, stage management, the acting company and theatre staff to ensure the efficient flow of information as necessary for the smooth running of the show;

Taking responsibility for the operation and maintenance of all equipment used by your department, including equipment checks prior to each performance;

Assisting the Production Manager and Company Stage Management with all production management requirements for refurbishments and maintenance;

Attending all rehearsals, show calls, maintenance calls, get-ins, fit-ups and get-outs as required, including emergency calls in the event of equipment failure or other incident, particularly if there is a risk of the cancellation of a performance;

Supervising all technical staff during performances and rehearsals and ensuring that staff are adequately briefed and/or rehearsed to run.
