Job Description

Yorkshire Dance are looking for someone to join the team part time as a Producer (Older People). You will be managing In Mature Company and Dancing Together which support people living with dementia to enjoy dance. You will contribute to key initiatives with older people, including our biannual Ageless Festival.

Main Duties

Project Management

  • Annual project planning, management and delivery of In Mature Company and Dancing Together
  • Managing and supporting freelance artists
  • Managing partnerships and relationships with stakeholders.
  • Supporting timely data collection and evaluation.
  • Championing and advocating for Yorkshire Dance's work with older adults

Producing

  • Supporting the curation of Ageless Festival 2026
  • Planning and managing one-off audience development programmes for Ageless 2026 including contracting freelance artists and scheduling outreach workshops and rehearsals.

    Salary: Full-time equivalent of £30,900 per annum - actual salary £12,360

    Pension: Where eligible, auto-enrolment in company pension scheme

    Period of contract: September 2025 to March 2027

    Hours of work: 15 hours per week (equivalent to 2 days) evening and weekend work as required (no overtime is payable, but time off in lieu may be given)

    Annual Leave: 25 days plus statutory and bank holidays pro-rata.

Job Requirements

Main purpose of the job

The principle responsibility of the role is to project management two of Yorkshire Dance's dance programmes for older adults.

Position in the organisation

The post holder will report to the Creative Director and work closely with the Producing Team and manage freelance artists. The post holder will be one of two Producers (Older People) with the other producer working on separate programmes of work.

Project Management

Dancing Together is an 8-week a dance project uniting people living with dementia and their carers in community venues in Leeds.

In Mature Company is a 2-year dance and dementia engagement project working with a team of dance artists and live musicians in residential care homes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Annual project planning and managing the successful delivery of In Mature Company and Dancing Together.
  • Manage freelance artists to ensure the smooth running of the programme, including contracting them
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including care homes, funders, commissioners to ensure effective marketing and delivery of the programme
  • Collaborate with other staff and freelance artists to ensure robust data and evaluation capture (including working with dementia care mappers to capture impact).
  • Champion and advocate for the programme (including the creation of case studies and presentations at local strategic meetings and national conferences).
  • Inform project development and support the Yorkshire Dance fundraising team to ensure the continuation of the work.
  • Oversee development of annual dementia care mapping report
