Job Summary

Touchstones Rochdale are looking for an early-career professional interested in expanding and developing their skills in production and project management on our upcoming film projects later this year.

Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and organised Production Assistant to support an upcoming project working with young and emerging filmmakers in Rochdale. This role involves hands-on work across a range of activities, including the final production of a short film, masterclasses with industry professionals, and visits to industry venues.

You will work closely with the Project Producer to help plan, coordinate, and deliver project events and activities. Tasks will include scheduling, communication with team members and participants, assisting with organising shoots and events, and providing support during workshops and production days. This position is well-suited to someone at an early stage in their film and TV career who wants practical experience and exposure to different aspects of the industry.

What We Offer:
- Competitive day-rate payment (£80/day, 9:30am-4pm working hours including 30 minute lunch break, minimum of 9 days working across the project with opportunity to extend based on requirements),
Hands-on experience in film and TV production,
- Opportunities to meet and learn from industry professionals,
- Support for personal and skills development,
- All necessary training provided,
- Opportunity to work in a professional team and environment.

If you are interested in gaining production experience and contributing to a creative project, we encourage you to apply.

To apply as Production Assistant, you should be:
- Early career professional or recent graduate, ideally with an interest in film and TV,
- Have excellent organisational and communication skills,
- Be able to work collaboratively and take initiative,
- Have strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude,
- Be willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment,
- Some experience in film, TV, media, or event production (professional or voluntary) is an advantage but not essential.

Touchstones is committed to removing barriers, promoting equal opportunities, and celebrating diversity. We particularly welcome interest from local professionals and those from marginalised backgrounds, including the global majority, LGBTQIA+, d/Deaf, disabled, and working-class communities.

Job Responsibilities

As Production Assistant you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Project Producer with day-to-day project coordination and administration,
- Helping organise and schedule masterclasses, workshops, and field trips,
- Supporting communication with facilitators, mentors, and participants,
- Contributing to the planning and delivery of the short film production,
- Maintaining records, track project progress, and help ensure deadlines are met,
- Providing on-site support during events and shoots,
- Carrying out general production tasks as needed.

We are interested to develop the role based around applicants and the skills you would like to develop in the role. If you have anything specific you would like to be involved in in the production of the project, let us know.
