Purpose of the Role

This dynamic and fast paced role will focus on enabling ambitious, people-led creativity and culture across two of Everyone Here's current programme strands:

Spark Sessions and Imagine Festival

Imagine Festival 2026 is a community-led celebration bringing together a rich programme of creative sessions and projects that will take place in West Cumbria, across Cleator Moor, Frizington, Flimby, Aspatria, and Mirehouse. Over the next several months, artists and community groups will collaborate in Spark Sessions to create work shaped by local people. The journey culminates in a vibrant two day festival in Whitehaven during February half term 2026, featuring visual art, workshops, and performances. With free transport from nearby towns, and links to cultural, heritage, and third sector venues, the Imagine Festival is for everyone.

Light Works

Building on the success of Hall Park Light Works (2024) - a collaboration with Cumberland Council that attracted over 12,000 people - the successful candidate will lead the planning, organisation, and delivery of two parallel Light Works festivals in Workington and Seascale.

Job Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in the management and delivery of large scale, complex community & cultural events.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Experience managing budgets and timelines.
  • Deep understanding and proven track record of event logistics, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Collaborative and respectful in working with a wide range of people from many backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Committed to inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability.
  • A significant amount of time will need to be spent on the ground in rural West Cumbria, therefore the successful candidate will need access to their own transport and availability to be in West Cumbria frequently. We therefore highly encourage local residents to apply for this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate delivery of two large scale multi-disciplinary and complex immersive light festivals taking place over 4 days in Workington and Seascale.
  • Plan and deliver one large scale multi-disciplinary complex Imagine festivals over 2 days in Whitehaven
  • Oversee a series of 20+ projects over 6 months across 5 areas of rural Cumbria.
  • Develop timelines, schedules, and operational plans to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Liaise with artists, suppliers, contractors, community producers and partners.
  • Manage staff, artists, production companies etc.
  • Deliver the festivals in line with the local community's vision.
  • Oversee budgets, contracts, and artist procurement in line with funder's requirements.
  • Ensure best practice is followed in relation to health and safety, accessibility, safeguardding, and environmental sustainability standards. This includes making sure the team members know what to do in the unlikely case of an incident or concern.
