Job Summary

We are seeking a Production Manager to support the rehearsals (w/c February 3rd 2025 in Southampton), Adelaide Fringe run (March 2025, remote support) and UK tour (April/May/June 2025 remote support) of the cross-genre solo show It is I, Seagull.

Job Description

It is I, Seagull is a cross-genre opera comedy show written and performed by Lucy Mellors. It had a successful regional tour in the south of England in Autumn 2023/Spring 2024, and will now go to the Adelaide Fringe in March 2025 and on a national tour in April/May/June 2025. It combines performance art, opera, and comedy to explore self-esteem, joy, failure, opera and space travel.

The show has a run time of 1 hour 10 minutes - it was previously 1 hour 30 minutes. We will be rehearsing the new version the week of the 3rd February 2025 at MAST Mayflower Studios, Southampton. The Production Manager will be required to be in rehearsals that week, but all other aspects of the job will be done remotely. Travel to and accommodation in Southampton can be provided if necessary.

Contract: January 2025 - May 2025, flexible working (except one week of rehearsals in Southampton, w/c 3rd February)

Salary: £2000

(based on £750 for rehearsal week and £250 per day for 5 days) If circumstances mean a significant amount of additional unexpected time is incurred then a discussion will take place to ensure you are appropriately reimbursed, within our budget constraints.
