We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join the Barbican Music team, to co-ordinate all aspects of pre-production and event management. This position will focus on music events of all genres of the Music programme in the Barbican Concert Hall and in off-site venues. To be successful in your application you will need an extensive and wide-ranging working knowledge of music, substantial experience in an event management role in a similar environment (multi-disciplinary arts venue, music festival or performing arts organisation) and a high level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills are also essential. The ability to multitask, work under pressure and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Barbican productions to the highest technical and artistic standard, through competent and precise advanced planning, administration, communication, budgeting and the supervision of events. A working knowledge of event travel, hotels, backline, technical riders, staging, visas and FEU tax is required. Evening and weekend work is an integral part of the role.Job Requirements

Good knowledge of the music industry, and a thorough understanding of all the creative processes of music-making, both classical and contemporary.
Proven experience working in a multi-disciplinary arts venue, major music venue or an events company in an event production role.
Proven event management experience in a Concert Hall environment.
Proven understanding of event production, stage and technical delivery.
Good understanding and experience of working with the UK points-based visa system.
Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Risk Assessments for live music events.
Good understanding of FEU tax procedures.
