Job Description

We are looking for someone to nurture and develop our creative learning and community programmes in Margate. From the first meetings with young people to supporting our delivery team, relationships, care and creativity are at the heart of this role.
You will work closely with our Co-Directors to build a sense of common connection and collectivism across the charity's projects, bringing people together and shaping our services so that everyone can thrive.
This is a role for someone who genuinely cares about young people, social justice and communities, who can hold complexity with calm and curiosity, and who brings their whole self to the work.

Job Requirements

Experience managing complex work with multiple moving parts, whether through formal project management or through practice.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to hold a varied caseload without things slipping through the cracks.
An ability to stay grounded and flexible when circumstances shift or uncertainty creeps in.
A genuine and active commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppressive practice, lived through your work and your values.
Experience working with young people and an understanding of their needs - this includes a strong understanding of trauma informed approaches and experience with complex safeguarding cases
Confidence navigating conflict and supporting others through it.
The ability to build a positive team culture and bring out the best in the people around you.
Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy, or a willingness to work towards this.

Job Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing
Caring for the wellbeing of young people, their families and staff across all our programmes.
Growing the Arts Education Exchange community, with inclusion, equity and diversity at the centre.
Building and maintaining the relationships and referral pathways that help young people thrive.
Listening to feedback from our community and shaping our work in response.
Holding the complexity of multiple programme strands, keeping things moving with clarity and care.
Maintaining clear, accessible records of young people's journeys so the whole team can support them well.
Managing a small, talented team to deliver creative learning projects to the highest standard.
Working closely with our Co-Director to keep an eye on project budgets.
Supporting our safeguarding responsibilities as Deputy Safeguarding Lead.
Coordinating internal and external training opportunities.

Once we have received your expression of interest, here is what to expect:

Expression of interest - we review all EOIs and aim to be in touch within two weeks.
Informal conversation or walk - we invite around ten people for a relaxed, in-person meeting at our Margate space or a walk nearby. You choose what feels most comfortable.
Time with the team and young people - three or four people are invited to spend some time with us in a real setting. This is not a test, it is a chance to get a feel for each other.
Conversation with leadership and trustees - a final, spacious conversation with our Co-Directors and trustees.

At every stage we will communicate clearly, offer feedback to anyone who is not progressed, and make sure you have everything you need to show up as yourself.
