Meadow Arts is looking for a dynamic and organised Programme Manager with a strong interest in contemporary visual art, familiarity with Arts Council England's Let's Create strategy, and experience working within small arts organisations. The role requires initiative, flexibility, and a collaborative approach.

This is a key role that supports the Artistic Director and Learning & Engagement Manager in delivering the artistic & engagement programmes, while also working closely with the Executive Director and Digital Comms Officer to underpin and promote that work.

The Programme Manager ensures effective communication across the team and with external partners, oversees logistics and artist liaison, manages project timelines, and leads on evaluation and strategic marketing.

The post also provides high-level administrative support to help ensure the organisation runs smoothly and professionally. We are seeking someone with excellent communication, writing, and IT skills, who has at least three years' experience in arts or cultural sector administration and project support.

Job Title: Programme Manager
Employer: Meadow Arts
Location: Hybrid (home-based with occasional in-person meetings/events)
Contract: Part-time, 3 days per week (0.6 FTE) until 31 March 2027
Salary: £32,287 (pro-rata)
Annual Leave: 21.6 days (pro rata, based on 36 FTE inc. bank holidays)
TOIL: Time Off in Lieu (overtime not paid)
Benefits: Pension; investment in CPD; flexible, remote working; rolled-over annual leave
Notice Period: Two months
Transport: Access to private transport is essential

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering complex creative projects, including working in a client-facing role with partners.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary visual art and artist liaison; ability to support project planning.
  • Excellent project management and administrative skills; able to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey information clearly in written, spoken, and visual formats.
  • Experience in evaluation and impact reporting, particularly for ACE NPO requirements.
  • Strategic thinking around marketing and brand development; able to support the Digital Comms Officer and contribute creatively to campaigns.
  • Understanding of co-production methods and audience engagement.
  • Proactive in suggesting improvements to data management and reporting systems, with an eye for operational efficiency.
  • Personable, reliable, and educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate programme planning and delivery across artistic and engagement teams, including leading regular planning sessions.

  • Liaise with partners to ensure clear communication, smooth collaboration, and timely follow-up on actions.

  • Manage contracts, logistics and deinstallation for artists, suppliers and artworks.

  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring fair pricing and policy compliance.

  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets and timelines, addressing issues as they arise.

  • Lead evaluation across the programme, including ACE and Julie's Bicycle reporting, ensuring impact is well documented.

  • Maintain evaluation records to support internal reporting and audience responsiveness.

  • Support non-digital marketing and brand strategy in line with organisational goals.

  • Provide content for digital communications and coordinate design and print for interpretation materials.

  • Assist the Executive Director with systems, policies and workflows.
