An exciting role assisting the delivery of Literature Works' programme to communities and audiences across the South West

Job Description

Interested in joining a small, friendly team? Literature Works are looking to recruit a new Programme Officer (0.8 FTE).

Salary: £20,400 PA pro-rata, plus NEST pension contribution (based on a full-time salary of £25,500 PA)

We nurture new writing and create ways into the world of words and stories for all. The Programme Officer is key to the smooth running of our exciting programme, engaging with wide-ranging, diverse networks.

This is a hybrid role, combining home working with Mondays worked in person as a team in Plymouth. The Programme Officer will also regularly support live work in Exeter and around the South West region.

  • Producing accurate and concise written output that includes the relevant and necessary details
  • Being available to work at evening and weekend events (with time off in lieu)
  • Ability to work regularly in both Exeter and Plymouth; ability to travel to meetings across SW region
  • A commitment to equality and diversity
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about literature and creative self-expression through words, as a reader, as a writer, or as a practitioner
  • An active and demonstrative interest in the arts, heritage and cultural sector, especially the role the arts can play in social change

Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of arts projects / working to project plans
  • Familiar with the Office 365 suite of software programmes
  • Able to undertake own administration skills and to work effectively with a shared online filing system

Job Responsibilities

Project co-ordination

Helping to maintain effective channels of communication between all programme stakeholders and partners

Event co-ordination

Supporting the preparation and smooth running of events. These will regularly take place outside of normal office hours and lieu time will be agreed to make up for this.

Supporting project promotion

The Programme Officer supports project promotion and the digital offer by liaising with the Digital and Marketing Officer to help source project content for targeted, on brand messaging to use online and in social media. Sourcing material and contributing when required to the Literature Works monthly newsletter in liaison with colleagues

Reporting and project data

Ensuring that data and evidence are collected and available for analysis to support project development and ensure timely reporting.
