Description
Yorkshire Young Musicians is an advanced training centre for musicans aged 8-19. We are looking for a Programmes and Partnership coordinator to work with the Head of YYM to deliver programmes and promote accessible, advanced music education for promising young musicians.

Programme development
- Coordinate a programme of engagement activities to enable YYM to benefit more young people
- Develop and coordinate enrichment activities to extend the current YYM programme
- Support and strengthen pathways towards conservatoire and university study for young musicians
Partnership building
- Establish and maintain relationships with partners including music hubs and services, schools, teachers, families and community organisations.
- Support YYM's aim to identify and nurture promising young musicians, working to remove barriers to accessing YYM programmes
Event co-ordination
- Organise workshops, concerts, masterclasses and engagement events to broaden the YYM programme and connect with the music education community
General
- Gather evidence to demonstrate the value of our programmes, including participant feedback, attendance data and partner input
- Work within YYM policies and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection
- Other duties appropriate to the post in line with the needs of the organisation
Details
0.5 post, 18.5 hours per week to include some Sunday working in Leeds or Hull.
£34,000 FTE, actual salary £17,000
Part time, fixed term for 12 months (with possibility to extend depending on funding)
Some Sundays in term time in Leeds or Hull, other hours working from home with occasional travel to locations in Yorkshire and the Humber
Education and experience
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in music
- Experience working in music education
Skills and knowledge:
- Experience in programme or curriculum development within a music education context
- Good understanding of the music education landscape in the UK including knowledge of music hubs and services
- Understanding of progression pathways in music including into university and conservatoire study
- Strong administration skills, able to use Microsoft packages
- Good written and verbal communication
Personal qualities:
- Friendly and approachable
- Able to communicate professionally with partners, staff, students and families
- Positive and flexible attitude to work and duties
- Able to work effectively within a small team
Other
- Commitment to safeguarding children and young people
- Able to maintain confidentiality
