Description

Job Summary

As Project Coordinator, you will support the delivery of engagement initiatives, cultural celebrations, and participatory programmes designed to create a truly inclusive Games atmosphere.

Job Description

The journey to Glasgow 2026 starts now - and we want YOU to be part of it! Get ready for a brilliant new era for the Commonwealth Games, blending world-class sport with a sustainable, future-focused vision.

In just under 300 days, Glasgow will transform into a global hub for sport and culture, welcoming 3,000 athletes from 74 nations, across 11 days of unforgettable action, fuelled by the city's unstoppable energy and passion.

Glasgow 2026 is set to revolutionise the Games, with a bold, 'Clyde Built' experience that reflects the city's resilience and innovation. This is more than just an event; it's a movement - a celebration of unity, equality, and sporting excellence. A movement that will not only deliver a world-class sporting experience but will also create a lasting legacy, maximising social and economic benefits for the city and the Commonwealth.

Job Summary:

As Project Coordinator, you will support the delivery of engagement initiatives, cultural celebrations, and participatory programmes designed to create a truly inclusive Games atmosphere. You will work closely with communities, cultural organisations, external partners, and a range of internal colleagues to help bring projects to life. Your days will be varied, one moment you may be coordinating meetings, the next, preparing partner communications, and the next you could be providing programme support for the administration of community-led projects. You'll act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring information flows smoothly and engagement remains strong across all activity.

You will play an important role in supporting programme administration, from preparing agendas and reports to maintaining accurate records and systems. Collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team will help ensure that the work happening across Glasgow's communities is celebrated and amplified, while your contributions to monitoring and evaluation will help demonstrate impact.

Job Requirements

To thrive in this role, you will bring experience in project or programme coordination, within a community, cultural, or event-based setting. You'll be organised, and confident managing multiple priorities at once. Experience working with community organisations, cultural institutions, or public bodies along with an understanding of cultural programming or large-scale event delivery will be key to your success.

Strong communication skills will be essential as you engage with a wide range of stakeholders. A commitment to inclusivity, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach will help you succeed in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Knowledge of Glasgow's cultural and community landscape, and experience supporting evaluation processes would be an advantage, though not essential.

You will be someone who takes pride in being a part of something, someone who is calm under pressure, adaptable when plans shift, and keen to contribute to a world-class celebration.

Job Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator will support the successful delivery of engagement initiatives, cultural celebrations and participatory projects in collaboration with communities, cultural organisations, and external partners. The role will provide essential programme support and administration, ensure effective communications with stakeholders, and support engagement, monitoring, and evaluation processes.
