Open Door seeks a dynamic Project Manager to work with our CEO, overseeing finance, operations and programme delivery. This pivotal role supports talented young people from underrepresented backgrounds to access leading UK drama schools and build pathways into television, film and theatre industry.
Open Door is an award-winning charity supporting talented people aged 17+ who lack financial means to access the UK's leading drama schools. Partnered with theatres and institutions including the Donmar Warehouse, Royal Court Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe, we work at the intersection of social change and the performing arts. We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Project Manager to work in close collaboration with our Artistic Director & CEO. This role is central to the financial and administrative leadership of the organisation and will ensure the smooth delivery of all Open Door programmes and events. The Project Manager will oversee detailed project budgets, liaise with accountants and trustees, manage invoicing processes and support funding reporting and evaluation activity. You will play a key role in coordinating applications, audition days, tutoring, workshops and showcase events, as well as drafting freelance contracts and supporting both permanent and freelance team members administratively. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills. You will maintain relationships with participants, mentors, tutors, drama schools, industry professionals and partner venues. You will also lead on the Open Door Behind the Scenes Programme and support the delivery of fundraising events and showcases. As a small, ambitious charity, we are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment while also being confident and self-directed, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of their remit. You will demonstrate strong financial literacy and operational rigour, and be committed to equity, access and inclusion in the arts. Flexibility is essential, as occasional travel and weekend work will be required with notice. This is a full-time position, working two days per week in our East London workspace and the remainder remotely. Salary: £30,000 to £32,000 pa depending on experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience within arts and/or charitable organisations, strong financial administration skills, including budget management and forecasting. Experience preparing funding reports and evaluations, proficiency in G Suite and Microsoft Office, experience working with young people aged 17+ from underrepresented backgrounds, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision, confident liaising with senior stakeholders, trustees and external partners. Desirable: Knowledge of Arts Council England funding processes, experience working with people from underrepresented backgrounds and experience using cloud-based accounting software
-Work closely with the Artistic Director/CEO to deliver Open Door's strategic vision, manage detailed programme and organisational budgets, oversee invoicing, financial administration and reporting, produce funding activity reports and evaluation documentation. Coordinate applications, audition days, workshops and events. Draft contracts for freelance staff, liaise with partner venues to secure space and manage logistics, produce fundraising events and showcases, lead the Behind the Scenes Programme, act as first point of contact for safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
