Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a culture and creative-led regeneration pilot project in Berwick-upon-Tweed called Create Berwick until 2027. It is one of three Culture and Creative Zones funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority to test innovative ways to deliver social and economic development.

Northumberland County Council is leading on a place-based approach to investing in Berwick's creative and cultural sectors to develop new skills, increase creative and cultural businesses and attract greater numbers of visitors to Berwick. Create Berwick will do this by working closely with the creative, cultural and community sectors to build cultural assets and enhance Berwick's reputation as a thriving cultural destination.

The programme focuses on 4 main areas of work:

Skills & Enterprise: Providing training, skills and business development opportunities enabling creative and cultural enterprise to prosper.

Profile: Promoting Berwick as a thriving place to live and work as well as a significant cultural destination.

Engaging Communities: Increasing opportunities for residents, volunteer-led organisations and communities to participate in creative and cultural experience.

Places & Spaces: To establish sustainable workspace and cultural resource hubs.

Job Requirements

An active awareness or knowledge of creative and cultural sectors.

Experience in project management and or task management.

Experience of providing practical support in data management and reporting.

Experience of giving advice and engaging effectively with others.

Job Responsibilities

Your role is to support the CCZ Manager in the development and delivery of major projects, working closely with a range of key delivery partners and stakeholder groups. You will play a vital role in organising and administering the Creative Action Fund scheme to maximise its reach and supporting creative ambition. You will also lead on the monitoring and evaluation activity, liaising with stakeholders and partner organisations to capture and measure impact. You will manage and maintain records and maintain databases that support the efficient delivery of Create Berwick and share responsibility for a portion of finances. The postholder will attend meetings with funders and external Project Teams to contribute ideas and information to help the delivery of culture-led regeneration programmes.
