Moonbeam Theatre are seeking a performer based in Kent with experience in dance or physical acting to collaborate in the devising of our new multi-sensory show 'Exploshine'. We are looking to explore ways that movement can create space for moments of connection with our audience.
Moonbeam Theatre creates exciting multi sensory theatre for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, touring these accessible performances to SEN schools and community groups across the UK.
- We are developing a new show for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, called 'Exploshine'. 'Exploshine' uses lights, reflections and a cavern setting filled with gems to explore the rich and unseen vibrancy of inner lives. In this show we are looking to explore, for the first time in our work, movement and physical acting to create space for moments of connection and participation with our audience
- We are looking for a positive and creative performer based in Kent to collaborate in the development of our new touring show 'Exploshine', with a particular focus on choreography/movement.
- We are looking for a performer with experience in devising theatre and dance and/or physical acting who can bring creative insight to this element of performance.
- The final show will be for 3 actors and one of these roles will also need to be blocked for an actor joining the tour to fill.
- Visits to our partner schools in Kent will be a core part of the show's development as we seek the guidance of our audience in what the show should be at every step of the journey

Based on ITC Rates of Pay this role will be £2,468
- Kent based performer ideally with a background in dance/physical acting/movement based work
- The project will take place at the University of Kent in Canterbury so the ability to travel to and from this venue is essential
- An up to date DBS is preferred but not essential
- To contribute and collaborate with other company members on the devising of a new multi-sensory show.
- An understanding of developing accessible multi-sensory performances is preferred but not essential
- You will collaborate with the two artistic directors of Moonbeam Theatre to devise an immersive multi-sensory show
- A touring actor will be joining the team towards the end of the development, so you will help block and develop their role in the show and support them in learning the part
