The Registrar works closely with the Gallery Directors, Finance and Administration teams, artists, clients, museums and galleries, shippers, framers, and other external suppliers to ensure that artworks are handled safely and efficiently and that all associated records and documentation are complete and up to date. The Registrar is also responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge of UK customs, import/export and tax procedures applicable to the movement of artworks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Shipping & Transport -Coordinate domestic/international shipping for exhibitions, art fairs, clients and artists. 2. Customs, Import & Export -Manage customs/tax procedures and liaise with external shippers. 3. Packing & Handling -Coordinate packing and handling procedures and ensure works meet collection deadlines. 4. Artwork Documentation & Condition -Conduct incoming/outgoing condition inspections and prepare PDF reports. 5. Loans & Consignments -Manage agreements and liaise with museums/galleries on terms. 6. Storage & Insurance -Organise on/off-site storage and optimise gallery space. - Have a minimum of 5 years' experience at a gallery, museum, artist studio or fine art shipping company with regards to the above listed responsibilities - Be dedicated, highly organized, calm, punctual, systems-oriented and a problem-solver - Take initiative, follow through on projects, manage time and tasks well and stays calm under pressure - Be willing to undertake basic and complex tasks with equal diligence - Have high attention to detail with the ability to work confidently within budgets. - Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as logic- based reasoning and the ability to think creatively - Have fluency in Mac computer systems & Microsoft Office; proficiency with Adobe - Photoshop/InDesign and SketchUp is desired - Have experience with databasing systems; familiarity with Artlogic, in particular, would be ideal Please email your CV and a short text about yourself to [email protected] by 5pm on September 25th 2026Job Summary
