Background St Martin-in-the-Fields is a working parish church in the heart of London. St Martin's operates a number of successful commercial activities on site including the Shop at St Martin's, Box Office, Caf in the Crypt and Courtyard, Events spaces and a full and varied programme of concerts, the profits from which support the work of the church. Visitors to the Shop at St Martin's are delighted by the range of British made gifts, unusual and value for money souvenirs, as well as books, music, and stationery. At Christmas St Martin's is full to the brim with seasonal decorations, Christmas cribs and one of the best selections of charity Christmas cards in central London. Nature and scope of the job In this role you will be working directly with our customers, providing information about the products we sell and how to select and make brass rubbings. You will need to demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and have a positive attitude in everything you do. You must be knowledgeable about the organisation as a whole, and training for this will be provided. The Shop is situated in the foyer space of the Crypt of St Martin's and is often the first part of our Crypt that visitors experience. You will therefore be the face of our brand and provide a welcoming atmosphere, assisting visitors with anything from way-finding to advising on the best gifts for their friends and family. This role is offered on a part-time basis, up to 30 hours per week at a rate of £13.85 per hour.
