This role manages Front of House operations across the Corn Exchange and Old Library, ensuring a warm, efficient, and high-quality experience for all visitors, including the public, artists, and visiting companies. It supports staff and volunteers while maintaining excellent customer service standards and an engaging environment.

The postholder leads all commercial and trading activity within Front of House areas, including caf bars, developing innovative, environmentally responsible offers that enhance income and visitor experience. They will set the vision for hospitality services, oversee delivery, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and drive growth through venue hires, events, and key partnerships across private, corporate, and community sectors.

The role includes full budget management, overseeing income and expenditure, setting targets, and monitoring sales and donations. Working with internal teams, the postholder will motivate staff to achieve monthly and annual financial goals.

As a manager, they will line manage key team members and oversee recruitment, induction, and development of casual staff and volunteers. They will review communication and administrative processes to ensure a cohesive, informed team and collaborate closely with other managers to support effective planning and a seamless visitor journey.

The successful candidate will be a positive, confident leader with strong organisational and multitasking skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment. They will demonstrate a proactive approach to improving sales and visitor experience, with the ability to solve problems creatively and lead a large team effectively. Job Requirements

Key Objectives

Manage and support the team, including our volunteers, in the successful delivery of live performances and films, box office functions, hospitality, hire events, agency services, and other activity and enquiries from our visitors.
Implement commercial revenue plans; including food and drink, artwork and retail merchandise, hire opportunities, events, amongst others.
Ensure a welcoming first-class visitor experience, excellent customer service, responding to feedback and enhancing the visitor experience.
Monitor sales and fundraising targets and manage trading budgets.
Maintain good communications with other departments and maximise efficiency systems to provide accurate and helpful information to staff, artists, visiting companies and the general public.
To act as Duty Manager at the Corn Exchange and other venues as appropriate and occasionally other events outside of these venues.
