Description

Job Summary

Are you an experienced classroom music leader with the skills to inspire teachers to deliver engaging co-curricular learning and lead an outstanding programme of special projects and events across Merton’s maintained schools?

Job Description

Following the retirement of a longstanding colleague, Merton Music Foundation (MMF) is looking for someone to lead on curriculum support and liaison across the borough's fifty-four maintained primary, secondary and special schools as well as its alternative provisions. This senior middle-leadership post will join the Safeguarding Team as a Deputy DSL and be responsible for line management of MMF's In2Music Curriculum Leader as well as overseeing planning and delivery of the Foundation's busy calendar of special projects and events for schools.

The Schools & Projects Leader supports co-curricular music provision as an active and visible presence in schools across our borough through networking, curriculum planning, observation & feedback, project planning, fundraising and delivering CPD/training.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner with significant teaching experience and the ability to plan ambitious programmes of activity, coordinating with a wide group of school staff and local community partners. You will have strong IT and organisational skills and will be a clear communicator. We are open to applicants from a wide range of musical backgrounds and would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants with additional experience of either choral leadership, SEND music-making and/or a piano teaching.
