Job Description

LUNG is seeking two dynamic Schools Facilitators to deliver the schools engagement branch of our innovative 'How to Build a Family' project, across London and Greater Manchester. This opportunity combines the LUNG verbatim method with educational outreach to gather authentic voices that will shape a nationally-distributed care resource.

We are seeking to recruit one facilitator in London and one in Greater Manchester.

We also believe campaign, school and participation work are integral to ensuring we have the most impact. We are looking for individuals who are committed to delivering these outcomes. The successful candidates will work closely with LUNG's Co-Director [Matt Woodhead] and LUNG's Producer [Sarah Kadri] to deliver this grassroots project.

Dates: 10th -14th February (Induction) & 24th February - 4th April 2025

Delivery: 15 x half-day sessions

Hours: Flexible, scheduled around school bookings

Fee: £2,250 + £600 for Induction Week [inclusive of required local travel]

Location: London OR Greater Manchester

Contract Type: Freelance

Job Requirements

Essential Experience and Skills:

- Proven experience delivering creative workshops in educational settings.

- Demonstrated ability to engage young people in meaningful creative dialogue.

- Experience working with diverse groups and managing group dynamic.

- Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences.

- Proven ability to drive creative ideas from conception through to completion.

- Strong safeguarding awareness and practice.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with the team.

- Excellent time management and organisational skills, incl.IT, Database and Internet skills (Gmail, Google Forms, Word and Excel).

- Experience in collecting and documenting session outputs & outcomes.

- Valid DBS check (or willing to undergo check).

Job Responsibilities

Workshop and Assembly Delivery:

- Design and deliver engaging standalone workshops and assemblies using LUNG's verbatim theatre method.

- Adapt content for different age groups and school settings.

- Create safe, inclusive spaces for students to share their perspectives.

- Maintain high energy and engagement levels throughout sessions.

- Ensure all activities align with Safeguarding, Security, Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety requirements.

Planning and Development:

- Collaborate with LUNG team to develop workshop and assembly plans.

- Create age-appropriate creative activities and discussion prompts.

- Design and prepare workshop materials and resources.

- Contribute to the development of evaluation frameworks.

- Hold regular check-ins with LUNG team to refine delivery approach.

- Undertake training and development as required.
