Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Stage and Automation Technician to work with the Head and Assistant Head of department to provide clear and effective supervision of the Stage and Automation team and wider Production department. In addition, the Senior Technician will ensure all Made at Curve and visiting productions are presented to the highest standard in a production role, and assist in the development and running of effective maintenance routines to ensure Curve stage and automation equipment is maintained to the highest standard.

The Senior Stage and Automation Technician will have experience of effectively leading and supervising teams during fit ups, with the ability to communicate with staff and visiting companies at all levels. They will have the ability to find innovative and reliable solutions to the challenges of design and delivery of the company's work. The postholder will be able to rig equipment and scenery according to plans provided by designers and visiting companies, have a working knowledge of modern technical theatre equipment, as well as the ability to maintain and repair equipment according to a planned maintenance schedule.

Working knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and implementation and monitoring of risk assessments is key to this post. A practical knowledge of Theatrical Automation systems, LOLER, PUWER, COSHH and a practical knowledge of electrical safety within the workplace is desirable, but not essential.

This role is a full-time permanent contract, on an averaged annualised hours contract of 42 hours per week. Regular evening and weekend work will be required.
