Senior Stage Technician (Grade 3B), National Theatre

As a senior staff member, you will be expected to participate in, and supervise technicians, for the full range of technical duties during fit-ups, rehearsals, performances, change overs and get-outs carried out by the department when required, providing duty cover and technical support as necessary and ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved. This may include working in all three venues and other NT spaces as required.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Operational experience in professional theatre; with experience as a Head of Stage or equivalent in a small producing or rep theatre, or supervisory experience within a larger theatre, or supervisory duties within a touring environment.
• Excellent stage craft skills and the ability to work at height using access equipment and PPE such as ladders and work positioning equipment.
• Proven experience of team supervision with the ability to listen, give guidance, delegate and deliver informal practical training.
• An excellent working knowledge and experience of theatrical flying techniques.
• Industry recognised certificates such as IOSHH and ABTT awards.
