Job Description

Contract Type: Full Time.

Operating Hours: 8am - 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8am - 7pm on Sunday

Contract Terms: 45 hours per week

Rate of Pay: £18.20 (Junior) £20.70 (senior) + accrued holiday paid monthly.

Contract Dates: immediate start; running to end of Feb with the possibility of extension.

Location: Dock X, Canada Water, London, SE16

As the Venue Technician of TaskMaster: The Live Experience, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless, safe, and efficient day-to-day operation of the immersive experience. You will oversee all technical aspects of the production, from managing the master show control system to maintaining the safety and functionality of all show elements. This dynamic role will have you leading both planned and reactive maintenance, facilitating communication between the cast and crew, and ensuring that every technical aspect runs smoothly during live show periods.

Job Requirements

Technical Operations:

  • Overseeing daily and weekly venue maintenance tasks,
  • Lead planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the consistent and safe operation of all technical elements.
  • Quickly address any technical challenges that arise, often under pressure, ensuring minimal disruption to live show operations.
  • Communicate any breakages and urgent technical issues to the Experience Manager.
  • Create schedules for planned and preventive maintenance across the site.
  • Recognise where maintenance work needs to be carried out/replacements are required and support the Experience Manager in ensuring these happen within a timely manner.

Safety:

  • Uphold safety standards for both staff and guests, ensuring all show elements, including lighting, sound, and venue automation, operate safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all production policies and safety procedures to ensure the safety and well- being of audience and staff members.

Job Responsibilities

Collaboration:

- Work closely with the Stage Manager, Experience Manager and company manager to ensure the seamless integration of all technical and performance elements.

- Ensure that technical operations support the overall vision and execution of the immersive experience.

About You:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role within live entertainment, immersive experiences, or technical theatre.

- Advanced knowledge in the use of technical disciplines, including audio, video, lighting, timecode, Dante, and QLab operation.

- A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality productions.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.

- Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
