Job Summary

King's Head Theatre are looking for a Senior Venue Technician to facilitate the successful delivery of all technical operations across King's Head Theatre.

Job Description

Acting as the operational lead within the Technical Department, the Senior Venue Technician will oversee the day-to-day delivery of productions, events and hires, including rehearsals and get ins/outs, ensuring the highest standards of technical presentation, customer service and health and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional production quality and a strong understanding of technical theatre operations.

Job Requirements

- Demonstrable experience working as a Theatre Technician or Senior Technician within a producing or receiving venue.
- Strong working knowledge of professional lighting, sound and video systems.
-Experience leading technical delivery of live performances.
- Experience supervising or mentoring technical staff.
- A supportive, positive and collaborative attitude.
- Good understanding of theatre production processes including get-ins, fit-ups, rehearsals and show operation.
- Experience preparing Risk Assessments and safe systems of work.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to technical issues.
- Experience using:
ETC Eos
QLab
Digital sound desks (e.g. Behringer X32)
DMX and networked lighting systems
- Flexible approach to working hours including evenings and weekends.

Job Responsibilities

Working closely with the Technical Manager and Production Coordinator, and supported by the Venue Technicians, the Senior Venue Technician will supervise the technical team, support in building and equipment maintenance, support production planning and attend production meetings, and act as the principal technical contact for visiting companies during the delivery of productions once in the venue. The role will deputise for the Technical Manager where required as well as lead on Show Calls as the Duty Technician where required.
