Ideal candidates will: DBS check and safeguarding training are required - we will cover the cost. Session length is approximately 1 hour, plus time before and after for set-up and clean-up, totalling two hours. DBS check & safeguarding training (cost covered by the project) Strong gardening knowledge and confidence to share skills (no allotment required) Enjoy working with children and able to adapt teaching to their age and ability Reliable and committed to attending weekly sessions (minimum 2 hours per week, term time and some holidays) Able to work as part of a team with other gardeners and volunteers Good communication and interpersonal skills Positive, enthusiastic, and patient attitude when supporting children outdoors Lead and co-deliver gardening sessions with primary school children at the allotment Teach children how to plant, grow, and care for fruit and vegetables in a fun, age-appropriate way Support children's learning about healthy eating, sustainability, and the environment Work as part of a team of gardeners and volunteers to plan and deliver engaging sessions Ensure sessions run smoothly, including preparing before and helping tidy up after (approx. 30 mins each side) Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children, following safeguarding guidelines Provide encouragement, patience, and positive role modelling to inspire children Be consistent and reliable each week so children benefit from stable support and relationships Please send your CV, DBS (if you have one) and cover letter to [email protected]Job Summary
