Job Summary

The job will involve creatively working with children and young people from a variety of backgrounds. Leading sessions and creatively engaging children and young people in musical/creative tasks to gain various desired outcomes. Service Rate: £15 per hour Up to 15 hours per month

Job Description

Principal duties and responsibilities

  1. Session development (the ability to generate new ideas and practices to develop young people)

  2. Provide engagement support (the ability to engage children and young people with music)

  3. To compile digital compositions using relevant DAW's,

  4. To compile session evaluations,

  5. Application knowledge (DAW)

  6. Music Knowledge (applications, Logic Pro X, Ableton, FL Studio)

  7. A basic level of music theory

  8. An understanding of current affairs (regarding the current condition of young people)

  9. An understanding of contemporary music

  10. Experience (working with young people, teaching applications, general teaching)

  11. Experience of working with disadvantaged children, NEET, looked-after children

  12. Report to the practice manager, providing written and verbal reports on service issues. Compile relevant and accurate information to assist the practice manager in maintaining and progressing service provision.

  13. Develop individual action plans for service users that will enable them to regain independence and bring them back into their communities.

  14. Undertake reviews of service users' care plans, update information, and take the lead in implementing changes to service users' service provision.

  15. Feedback, monitoring and updates on the progress and needs of the service users

Job Requirements

Ability to undertake musical tasks in a sensitive manner to meet the needs of the service users.

Ability to develop and implement individual and group action plans that focus on preferences to maximise and maintain their personal independence.

Ability to observe changes within the service users' circumstances and respond accordingly.

Ability to use information technology (including a computer) to undertake a range of tasks.

To follow procedural guidelines and complete appropriate documentation in the required formats.

Ability to compile detailed written reports and devise and implement service user's action plans.

Be able to communicate clearly with service users, employees, and other professionals using a range of media.

Ability to work within a team structure and understand the importance of teamwork in relation to achieving desired goals and outcomes.

Recognize strengths and weaknesses within the team/individual and support colleagues when required.
