Job Description

Join one of Britain's foremost cultural institutes to support our dynamic Short Courses team in the role of Events Officer. You will be playing a vital role in driving excellence for our students and staff!

Your focus will be a wide range of event management, administrative, and marketing tasks that ensure the smooth running of a varied programme of online and in-person art history short courses throughout the year.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

An organized, articulate, practically skilled, and self-motivated person to support the Short Courses team with the recording, editing and uploading of online courses, the creation and maintenance of web- and VLE pages, marketing and publicity-related and administrative tasks, and the running of on campus events. Training in technical processes will be given, if necessary.

WHAT ARE THE DETAILS FOR THE ROLE:

This is a permanent, full-time role. The Events officer may work on a hybrid basis, opting for 1 to 2 days from home. There will be occasions when course delivery requires full-time presence on campus (normally 1 evening per week during term-time; 1-2 weeks in the Easter vacations, for 4 weeks over late June to July, and during 1 week in September).

WHO ARE WE:

The Courtauld is a specialist university and home to the largest community of art historians and conservators in the UK. It offers a range of degree programmes in the History of Art, curating and the conservation of easel and wall paintings. The Courtauld cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, displayed at The Courtauld Gallery in Somerset House, central London.

The Courtauld works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts, as an internationally renowned centre for the teaching, research of art history and a major public gallery. Founded in 1932, the organisation has been at the forefront of the study of art ever since.

ARE YOU ABLE TO:

  • Demonstrate you have excellent organisational skills and can work with minimal supervision.
  • Apply your high standard of customer service in a higher education setting.
  • Use your excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact and maintain good working relationships with internal staff, external lecturers, and our students.
  • Demonstrate your ability to provide practical solutions and remain calm under pressure if required
  • Use your IT skills and aptitude for digital processes to ensure the smooth running of online and on campus events

If you believe you can carry out this role effectively, we'd love to meet you!
