Job Description

One World or None (OWON) is seeking a Social Media Manager to help shape and deliver our digital presence at a pivotal moment in our growth. OWON is a global cultural and media campaign dedicated to reshaping public narratives about democratic renewal and the role of Citizens' Assemblies in addressing global challenges. Through film, games, media, and cultural engagement, we work to make deliberative democracy accessible, compelling, and globally resonant.

This remote role (4 days per month) is ideal for a highly organised, creative and strategically minded social media professional who is excited by the intersection of culture, politics and systems change. Working closely with the Director(s) and wider team, you will play a central role in defining how OWON shows up across platforms, ensuring our messaging, campaigns, and cultural outputs are coherent, engaging and aligned with organisational priorities.

You will lead the day-to-day management of OWON's core channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok), while overseeing the setup and growth of LinkedIn, Substack, and YouTube. The role involves content planning, writing, scheduling, performance tracking and daily monitoring of engagement. OWON will provide core visual and filmed materials; your focus will be on shaping, contextualising and distributing content effectively for different audiences.

Overall, the key task is to be part of a social media campaign that is as paradigm busting as the content itself which is representative of a systemic evolution in the way that people understand how decision-making for humanity can be managed.

Job Requirements

Experience and understanding of managing multiple social media platforms for an organisation, campaign, or creative project. Strong written communication skills and ability to adapt tone across platforms. Experience supporting or amplifying content created by others (e.g. advocates, artists, community members) and ability to liaise confidently with high-profile cultural figures and celebrity amplifiers. Confident with content planning, scheduling and maintaining consistent output alongside daily monitoring and community management. Comfortable interpreting analytics and tracking engagement. Highly organised, self-directed and reliable working remotely.

Desirable: Experience launching new channels (LinkedIn, Substack, YouTube), Awareness of global political, cultural, or climate justice contexts, particularly youth engagement and democratic innovation.

Job Responsibilities

Lead OWON's social media strategy and daily channel management across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok. Plan, write, schedule, and publish content (minimum two posts per week), adapting for platform and audience. Oversee launch and growth of LinkedIn, Substack, and YouTube.

Monitor channels daily, responding to comments and messages in line with OWON's voice and values. Track performance, maintain reporting systems and refine strategy using analytics. Support promotion of campaigns, cultural releases, events, and media moments. Collaborate with directors, creatives, advocates, and cultural figures to amplify content and maintain a consistent, high-quality digital presence.

This role is remote and can be undertaken from anywhere, with flexibility around working hours. Some evening or weekend work may be required to support events, media moments, or international engagement.
