Are you aged 18-25 years old and based in South East England?

Would you like to have a career in music that includes facilitating community music programmes?

Soundcastle's online Sparking Change Programme runs on Wednesday mornings during term time from October 2025 to March 2026 and is an opportunity to build up your CV, widen your industry network,develop your practical skills and learn how to get your own project ideas off the ground.

We are particularly keen to share this programme with young people from a diverse range of backgrounds, including those who may have experienced barriers in accessing training or professional development opportunities.

Job Requirements

Over 6 months (during term time), you will experience:

Creative skills sessions in music facilitation
One-to-one mentoring with two industry professionals
Two-part training series about the Power of Partnerships
A training qualification in Mental Health Awareness
An Introduction to Fundraising
Administrative best practice in the arts
Signposting to additional opportunities for further experience, training and paid work
Observation and volunteering opportunities on Soundcastle programmes

Job Responsibilities

You will gain:

A deeper understanding of the community music sector, in particular working with families and people on a journey of mental health recovery
Increased skills in creative enterprise, reflective practice and music facilitation
Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health Qualification
The opportunity to meet and network with other like-minded young people at a similar stage of career development
