Job Summary

Following consultation with special schools across South Yorkshire, we are looking for a SEND specialist to work with us on the development and delivery of three bespoke school workshops.

Job Description

Sheffield Museums has an ambition for all Sheffield's school-age children and young people to engage with dynamic museum experiences that inspire participants to think, engage, be creative and connect with the city's past, present and future. We want to take an active role in improving children and young people's wellbeing and attainment through enhancing their school experience. The content of each workshop in our school workshop programme brings learning to life by being rooted in site-specific collections and spaces, making best use of the objects, artworks and galleries available. This programme is delivered to schools by Casual Learning Deliverers across the sites we care for.

Following consultation with special schools across South Yorkshire, we are looking for a SEND specialist to work with us on the development and delivery of three bespoke school workshops. These workshops will be specially designed for the needs of SEND pupils and will be piloted and evaluated with local special schools. The new workshops will be available to special schools at Weston Park Museum when it is closed to the public, giving them exclusive use of the museum and its facilities.

Outcomes for local special schools:

Confidence in accessing the galleries and collections at Weston Park Museum.

Access to workshops which are high-quality, engaging and suited to the needs of their pupils.

The use of appropriate, safe and well-maintained resources which support engagement and learning for SEND pupils.

Clear links to Sheffield Museums' formal learning pedagogy, the Engagement Model, the Pre-Key Stage Standards and the National Curriculum where appropriate.

Exclusive access to Weston Park Museum and its facilities.

Fee
