Do you have experience supporting users or clients with exciting and challenging 3D computer graphics projects using Blender? This is your opportunity to join a growing team of computing and technology specialists supporting technical learning at the Royal College of Art for 3 days a week.

Location

Battersea, Kensington & White City Campus Buildings, London, UK.

Pro rata salary is £26,285 - £28,402 per annum including London Allowance.

Job Requirements

What are we looking for?

An adaptable and highly motivated person to provide specialist technical instruction, support, advice and demonstrations in Blender and some related production pipelines. The ideal candidate will have experience, either in creating and manipulating 3D computer graphics in the commercial sector, or teaching it as a technical process in Higher Education. They will have a keen ability to problem solve and an ambition to support emerging activities. Candidates will have:

  • Significant, highly skilled, specialist knowledge of Blender's integration capabilities within various production pipelines.
  • Knowledge in Blender's modelling tool set, including sculpting and retopology.
  • Experience creating animations and rigging models using Blender's designed tools.
  • Knowledge of Blender's Cycles render engine to produce high-quality renders.
  • Experience of planning and delivering in person technical workshops.

Job Responsibilities

  • An ability to transition data between programs to connect Blender to additional workflows.

What will the job involve?

Working onsite to provide in-person specialist technical instruction, support, advice and demonstrations in Blender for all users.

Creation, planning and delivery of technical workshops for small groups (15 max).

Experimental work and problem solving on a daily basis.

Working closely with Masters students to support their independent research projects.

Peer-to-peer learning with other technical specialists and continual learning as part of a dynamic team.
