Job Description
Call the show, coordinating all technical and performance cues accurately
Creation of the prompt book
Create and maintain the production bible, ensuring all documentation is accurate and comprehensive
Operate lighting, sound, av equipment, and carry out stage duties as required
Troubleshoot technical issues or cues
Lead and coordinate the dry tech, fit-up, technical rehearsals, and daily get-ins and get-outs in collaboration with the Production Manager and technical departments
Support production creative teams to ensure all technical elements are delivered successfully
Act as the primary point of contact with venue management and technical staff
Ensure efficient use of stage time and adherence to schedules across all departments
Act as the main point of contact between the Producing Team, Technical Team and the Venue Team
Be the first point of contact for the company regarding schedules, calls, welfare, and day-to-day concerns.
Foster clear communication and positive working relationships across cast, creatives, and technical teams.
Ensure the wellbeing of the company and maintain positive working relationships across all personnel and productions
Prepare and distribute calls, schedules, and show reports
Provide performance reports and updates to management and producers
Manage SM petty cash, including tracking and reconciliation
Maintain accurate documentation including contact sheets, schedules, rehearsal notes, and reports.
Maintain a communicative, collaborative working environment within the department
Follow good, safe working practices in line with FMP's Health and Safety policies
Ensure safe backstage and onstage practices in line with health and safety regulations
Conduct and maintain risk assessments and ensure company adherence to venue policies
Undertake any other reasonable duties as and when requiredJob Requirements
Experience as a Stage Manager and Deputy Stage Manager, specifically with show calling
Experience in a Fringe festival environment
Experience managing a small team
Experience running a technical rehearsal
Experience scheduling weekly calls and managing hours
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and relevant working practices
Understanding of the production process, including get in, fit ups & technical rehearsals
Strong communication skills; confident, friendly and approachable manner
Ability to remain calm under pressure, especially in high pressure situations such as mid-show technical faults
Highly organised, self-motivated and reliable with excellent customer service skills
Broad knowledge and practical experience across technical areas of theatre
Enthusiasm for the arts, in particular fringe theatre or sketch comedy
