Theatre for Life, in partnership with Beyond Reflections, is seeking an experienced Stage Manager for a new intergenerational verbatim theatre production celebrating Trans+ lived experiences. The role includes preparing and maintaining the prompt script, calling the show during performances, and supporting technical integration. The Stage Manager will also be required to operate either lighting, sound, or media elements (Q Lab) during performances, depending on the venue setup. They will play a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and well-organised working environment. The project includes preview performances at Mayflower Studios on 29th-30th August (as part of Southampton Pride) and a short tour to two professional venues in November (dates TBC) in London and the South West or South East. This role is ideal for a proactive and collaborative individual with strong organisational skills and experience in theatre, particularly new writing or devised work. We are particularly keen to hear from Trans+ stage managers, as this project centres Trans+ voices and lived experiences. Job Description
The Stage Manager will support the delivery of the project from rehearsal through to performance, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the production. Responsibilities include coordinating rehearsals, maintaining schedules, taking and distributing rehearsal notes, liaising with the creative team and cast, and managing backstage operations. We are ideally looking for someone who has a clean driving licence and can drive the hire van.
Fee: £185 per day x 10 days = £1850

Proven experience as a Stage Manager in theatre or live performance
Ability to call shows confidently and accurately during performances
Experience operating lighting, sound, or Q lab
Excellent organisational and time-management skills

Availability for the full rehearsal, preview, and tour period
