Job Summary

The Bodleian Libraries’ Office for Strategy and Delivery is looking to hire a Strategic Communications Officer to support the implementation of the Libraries’ Strategy.

Job Description

About the role

You will play an essential role in supporting strategic change and project delivery at the Bodleian Libraries. This will involve developing a comms campaign, drafting emails and newsletters about strategy updates, drafting blog posts to celebrate strategic successes, drafting information packs for managers about the strategy, facilitating consultative workshops about future strategy, and maintaining an internet presence via the Strategy Hub.

As part of the Office for Strategy and Delivery, a small team in the Bodleian Libraries, you will work closely with a range of teams across the organisation. This includes the Communications team, the Assessment team, the Learning & Development team, and various project delivery teams. With these teams, you will ensure you're prioritising comms messages succinctly, using business-as-usual comms channels to greatest effect, supporting culture change initiatives, and evaluating the success of the comms you're doing.

This is a fixed-term post for 2 years, working part-time for 29.2 hours (4 days) per week. Exact working hours can be agreed upon offer of the post. Flexible working arrangements could be considered for the right candidate. However, the post holder is expected to be on site at least 2 days per week, ideally 3 days.

What We Offer

University employees enjoy 38 days' paid holiday, generous pension schemes, travel discounts, and a variety of professional development opportunities. Our range of other employee benefits and discounts also includes free entry to the Botanic Gardens and University colleges, discounts at university museums and the University Sports Club, and free membership of the University Club. You will also understand the role of AI and digital developments in comms today and how these apply to your role.
