Job Description

Studio assistant sought to support an established professional painter (wheelchair user). The job includes personal care duties and light house keeping, preparing paints and painting surfaces and preparing work for exhibitions, accompanying me to the studio, some experience with this is preferred although full training will be given. Some experience working with people living with disabilities would be helpful. Friendly household including a funny well-behaved dog (she will need walking everyday).

Applicant needs to be warm hearted, hardworking and quiet. Would suit an undergraduate or postgraduate student, (preferably in the arts) needs to commit for at least 6 months. Pay is £20 an hour after 3 or 4 trial/training sessions at £14 per hour.

Currently recruiting for :

Thursday afternoons 2-8pm (studio assistant role, light personal care)

Friday mornings 9am-2pm (support work & studio assistant responsibilities, full training provided)

Saturday mornings 9am-2pm (same as above)
Saturday evenings 5pm-10pm
Sunday mornings 9 - 2pm

If you have experience in care / support worker roles or would like to learn the morning and evening shifts listed that need filling and would involve both artist assistant responsibilities and care and support assistance.

Job Requirements

Experience with working with people living with disabilities is preferable. Though full training will be provided.

Driving license isn't required but is beneficial

Job Responsibilities

Studio assistant sought to support an established professional painter (wheelchair user).

The job includes personal care duties and light house keeping, preparing paints and painting surfaces and preparing work for exhibitions, accompanying me to the studio, some experience with this is preferred although full training will be given. Trips to the National Gallery etc.

A average day will look like, helping me end a a working studio day, feeding and walking a well behaved studio dog, jointly preparing supper following instructions, light house work, assisting me to bed, an hour - 1.5 hours personal care washing, undressing etc. Aiding with note taking and writing, gardening.

Good and interesting work, some of my assistants have been with me for 5 or 6 years and my main evening assistant has been with me for 22 years.
