LeftCoast Supper Clubs happen 8 times a year at different community spaces around Blackpool. We use food as a way of connecting people to each other, place, and the seasons. Alongside sharing food together, there is also a creative activity designed to encourage conversations, which explore a theme that is relevant to the neighbourhood. These have ranged from hands on making activities, talks from artists, poetry readings, and a soup disco. Exchange and reciprocity are themes that have emerged strongly in our programme, and we encourage this in our Supper Clubs. This can be anything from skills and knowledge sharing through to physical exchange of home bakes or home grown produce. This contract is for £3,200 at a suggested rate of £200 a day to produce the three remaining Supper Clubs. These days should be sufficient to cover all aspects of the programme, including: We would ideally like somebody to start at the beginning of August but we can be flexible around booked holidays. We need a friendly, organised Producer to liaise with our community groups/partners/artists to co-produce their neighbourhood event. You need to have experience of co-producing work with people, be a good listener, and pay attention to detail. The Producer will jointly make decisions about the date and the theme for each event with our LeftCoast artists in residence, the resident representatives for that area, and the LeftCoast team. LeftCoast will be here to support your route to the people and resources you need to make a great event happen. The LeftCoast team will work with you to create the relevant communication assets and feedback resources. We are looking for a Producer to take over the programme from August, the role will be to: The Supper Clubs are an established strand of our programme, and the Producer role is an annual position. This contract is for 5 months to replace the current Producer who is moving on. As a Creative People and Places project we are funded in 3 year cycles, with the next cycle beginning in March 2026, subject to us being successful, we have built Supper Clubs into our forward plan, which therefore offers the possibility of this work extending. Please send your CV and a letter (no more than one side of A4) that outlines why you are interested in the role with an example of projects or programmes you have worked on that you think are relevant. Job Description
The Supper Club programme is in its third year, and recently we have also developed the Supper Club Ambassador Programme. This is a natural progression for some of our regular attendees who were starting to take a more active hosting role within their neighbourhoods. Currently in a testing phase, the Ambassadors are exploring how they would like to take a more proactive role in producing two of the eight yearly Supper Clubs, alongside supporting the delivery of the other six. This role supports them to realise their ideas.
