We are looking for a dynamic Production Coordinator / Access Support to support Lead Artist, Symoné and the team to deliver mixed reality theatre production, Nullspace Motel, and immersive installation, A Dream Within A Dream throughout the entire project lifecycle.

We are looking for a dynamic Production Coordinator / Access Support to support Lead Artist, Symone and the team to deliver mixed reality theatre production, Nullspace Motel, and immersive installation, A Dream Within A Dream throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Your role will include providing administrative and production support during creative and technical development, residencies, casting, pre-production, and public presentations. This role may involve a mix of remote and in-person work across the UK.

  • Commitment: Up to 37 days fixed term contract
  • Timeline: January - November 2025 (exact dates tbc)
  • Deadline:13th January 2025 at 5pm
  • Fee: ÂŁ175 per day (8hrs)
  • Location: Hybrid (in-person and remote)

About the Project
The Nullspace Motel universe spans across two interconnected projects including A Dream Within A Dream (ADWAD). Together, these works form a duology exploring themes of queerness, identity, memory, and the nature of reality through mixed reality performative storytelling. Nullspace Motel is a mixed-reality immersive theatre experience and is the second and newest production created by Lead Artist, Symone.

About the Lead Artist
Symone is a Guinness World Record-holding interdisciplinary circus and cabaret artist, director, video game designer and performance artist, with British and American roots, currently based in London, UK.

Nullspace Motel / A Dream Within A Dream is created by Symone, in collaboration with Sammy Metcalfe & Reed Rushes, & produced by The Lasso Club.

Commissioned by Arts Council England, UK Black Pride Fund, Marlborough Production's New Queers On The Block Fund, Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Theatre In The Mill, & Electric Medway, with support from Live Art Development Agency, NYX Professional Make-Up, Cambridge Junction, Homotopia Festival, Colchester Arts Centre, Attenborough Arts Centre, Nottingham Broadway Cinema, Screen South, & Code Coven.

Job Requirements

Key Skills & Knowledge:
Essential

  • Strong organisational skills to manage schedules, logistics, and priorities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities for liaising with artists, venues, and technical teams.
  • Proven experience in budget management, ensuring accurate and efficient financial tracking.
  • Familiarity with technical tools such as Asana, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite/Canva and Google Workspace for project management.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, resolving logistical and technical challenges effectively.
  • Collaborative experience with team coordination, supporting artists and production teams.
  • Knowledge of event and production logistics, including rehearsals, residencies, and presentations.

Desirable

  • Understanding of game testing and production process.
  • Access to a vehicle or a driving license is a bonus to facilitate travel as needed.
  • Experience working in theatre and/or immersive exhibition productions.

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:
The Production Coordinator / Access Support will support the artist Symon and the team to deliver mixed reality theatre production, Nullspace Motel, and immersive installation, A Dream Within A Dream.


Provide the Artist with administration and creative development assistance, including:

  • Support creative process in rehearsal rooms and on filming dates
  • Organise creative research
  • Write emails on behalf of the Artist and diary management
  • Liaise with partners regarding creative and production updates, as required
  • Provide access support
  • Provide project administration support, including:
  • Attend meetings and take minutes
  • Updating and assign tasks for the team in Asana
  • Update contact lists
  • Liaise with partners and venues on behalf of the Artist to agree:
  • Locations and facilities, in line with Artist requirements for residencies, rehearsals and presentations
  • Equipment the host and the Artist will provide
