Hours: Wednesday and Thursday 2.30pm – 5.30pm Salary: £15 per hour Reporting to: Club Manager Location: Sternberg Centre, 80 East End Rd, N3 2SY

Job Description

Kids Do Art have been providing high quality After School Art Clubs for over 20 years and we are looking for a TA with creative skills and a passion for childcare to join our team.

Working directly with the children you will be responsible for assisting the lead tutor during term times to deliver planned activity sessions within our club. Activities will include arts and crafts. You will be part of a high-quality team transitioning the children from school to the club and ensuring they have the best care and great art sessions.

This job would suite an arts graduate or someone looking to work in child education . We are looking for candidates in the local Barnet area or who are local to our venue or willing to travel to N3 2SY

Skills you will need:

  • Caring and supportive - the ability to be both firm and caring in a busy environment
  • To have creative skills and ideas to provide the children with varied and dynamic activities
  • Good communication skills with both children and team members
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on time and to a high standard
  • A proactive approach to getting things done
  • High levels of enthusiasm and motivation and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to adapt and problem solve
  • Work as part of a team and support colleagues in their work
  • To be punctual, responsible and committed to all tasks

Job Responsibilities

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Set up and clean up of studio space for each session
  • Set up and clean-up of equipment and materials for each lesson
  • Assist tutor to deliver mixed ability art sessions in a range of art activities
  • Provide feedback on children's progress and welfare to the club manager
  • Provide support for children at all times
  • To help with the day-to-day running of club
  • Supervise the transport of children from school to the club and hand over to parents at the end of each session
  • To attend safeguarding and first aid training classes and to be DBS checked
