This role requires you to be an organised self-starter who is able to work as part of a team. Excellent practical skills, health and safety awareness, and attention to detail are essential. 1. To ensure a high standard of presentation in the Arts and Culture exhibition and display programme including: a) Preparation and maintenance of exhibition spaces including assisting with packing and unpacking of exhibits. b) Provide support for multimedia, film and video works including installation and ongoing maintenance during the exhibition. c) Liaison with curatorial staff and exhibiting artists and organisations in the presentation of exhibitions, including making required items for displays and organising work. d) Assisting in the hanging and lighting of exhibitions and events in conjunction with the Technical Officer and under instruction of the curatorial team. e) Provision of technical support to artists with installations, residencies or workshops. f) Preparation of exhibits for display, including minor restoration/ conservation, cleaning, mounting and framing. g) To prepare exhibition spaces ready for installation, where necessary. To undertake the routine technical duties of the post. These include; b) Assist the Technical Officer in researching and sourcing exhibition equipment and materials and ensure their safe use and storage. c) Maintaining commissioned craft items in the building. 3. In the absence of the Technical Officer supervise the work of freelancers, casual staff and volunteers. 4. In the absence of the Technical Officer support the Collections Officer as and when required. 5. Assist the Technical and Collections team in monitoring the Art Gallery's environmental conditions and report findings to the Senior Curator or project lead. 6.
