Technicians wanted for Edinburgh Fringe 2026. Working with performers and venue staff to operate sound and lighting, assist with show set-up and maintain technical paperwork. Tech experience in comedy/theatre required. £28 per show plus £20/hr for tech rehearsal.

Rate of Pay: £28 per show plus £20 p/h for tech rehearsal

Dates of Work: 2nd to 31st August (Plus tech rehearsal time TBC)

Role
Working with performer and venue technician on set-up of show technical equipment.
Operating lighting and sound tech for all performances of one show.
Assisting in daily turnaround before and after show.
Keeping full record of all information regarding show operation including cue sheets, show reports any other paperwork required.
Ensuring that all backstage facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standard.
Ensuring health and safety standards set by venue are adhered to correctly.

Person Specification
Experience of working as a technician in either a professional or academic environment.
Good knowledge of theatrical technology including rigging and programming of lighting desks.
Good working knowledge of health and safety in a theatrical environment.
Comfortable working at height.

Job Requirements

Assisting with daily get-ins and get-outs where required.
Keeping cue sheets, show reports and show paperwork up to date.
Ensuring equipment and backstage areas are kept tidy and safe.
Following all venue health and safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Has experience working as a technician in a professional or educational setting.
Has a good understanding of theatre sound and lighting equipment.
Is confident using lighting desks and programming cues.
Understands health and safety requirements in a theatre environment.
Is comfortable working at height.
Is reliable, organised and able to work independently.
