Theatre Manager - 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

The Princess Theatre is South Devon's largest regional theatre with a capacity of nearly 1,500 patrons. The Theatre first opened it's doors on Wednesday 7th June 1963, with Tommy Cooper and Morecambe & Wise. We have always attracted first class companies and famous names including The Beatles, Sir Roger Moore, Joan Rivers, Billy Ocean, Paloma Faith as well as comedians Al Murray, Jimmy Carr, Russell Howard and Katherine Ryan. We showcase the best West End and touring productions from across the UK and a wide variety of performances, including top-named comedians, musicals, local productions, one-night concerts, ballet, opera and our annual pantomime. We also have our Teatro caf and Ice cream hatch that are open seasonally during the day as well as a restaurant for pre-theatre dining overlooking the beautiful Bay.

Job Responsibilities

An imperative part of the Senior Management Team, the role reports directly to the General Manager. You will work closely with the venues Heads of Departments including Marketing, Ticketing, Customer Experience, Creative Learning and Technical to deliver the Theatre's Business Plan and associated targets and objectives. The Theatre Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the building, making sure that the experience for all is impeccable; including but not limited to audience members, production staff, internal employees, and external stakeholders. The role is also accountable for risk management within the venue, ensuring an efficient and safe operation.
