I’m seeking an experienced theatre producer to collaborate on an original one-man show exploring [themes, e.g., mental health, social anxiety, identity, humour, and human connection]. The show blends verse, storytelling, and live performance to create an immersive, emotionally engaging experience.

Job Description

I am seeking a Producer for a 1 man Theatre Show blending Spoken Word, Theatre and Comedy into an immersive and interactive experience for audiences to laugh, reflect and connect on themes around social anxiety/ mental health/ identity.

This is a production written in verse and is being aimed to tour nationwide at community and professional venues. This is intended to begin in Spring 2026 with a few venues already near confirmation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience producing Theatre, particularly touring productions

  • West Midlands based

  • Strong project management and organisational skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

  • Passion for innovative, emotionally engaging theatre

  • Knowledge of UK theatre networks and funding streams is advantageous

Contract:

Freelance / Project-Based

Budget :

£3000 .£100 x30 days over from October 2025- February 2026. The working days are expected to be 6 hours per day, 18 hours per week with dates and times flexible and agreed upon prior to contractual agreement.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

  • Lead the production process, including scheduling, budgeting, and timelines

  • Identify and secure funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorships

  • Ensure all legal, health & safety, and licensing requirements are met

Collaboration:

  • Act as primary liaison between the creative team, venues, and technical staff

  • Create marketing and communications teams to develop promotional strategies

Operations & Logistics:

  • Coordinate rehearsals, technical runs, and performance schedules

  • Manage contracts, agreements, and administrative documentation

Touring & Audience Engagement (Optional/Desirable):

  • Support potential touring to community and professional venues

Job Responsibilities

  1. Production Management

    • Oversee the show from development to performance

    • Manage schedule, timelines, and budget

    • Identify and apply for funding and grants

  2. Collaboration & Coordination

    • Act as primary liaison with the creative team, venues, and technical staff

    • Support script and artistic development

    • Coordinate with marketing/PR to promote the show

  3. Logistics & Operations

    • Schedule and manage rehearsals, tech runs, and performances

    • Ensure contracts, legal, and health & safety compliance

    • Handle administrative documentation

  4. Touring & Engagement

    • Assist with community or venue touring

    • Facilitate audience engagement activities, workshops, or post-show discussions

  5. Reporting & Oversight

    • Provide regular updates to the creator/production team

    • Monitor progress, budget, and milestones
