Touring Stage Manager to organise and run the production throughout rehearsals and whilst on tour. Rehearsal Dates: 10th - 23rd February Show Dates: 24th February - 15th April 2025 Payment: £900.00 per week

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised, dynamic, and experienced Touring Stage Manager to join our exciting, high-energy dance production on its UK tour. The tour will travel to 40 venues across the UK for one-night-only performances at each stop. You will be a key member of the production team consisting of 14 talented performance artists and 3 other crew members..

  • Stage Management Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a stage manager on a touring production, ideally with dance or other live performance or variety shows.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in diverse venues with varying technical capabilities, looking ahead to how the show may need to be adjusted for the next venue's limitations..
  • Stagecraft Skills: Familiarity with sound, lighting, and AV equipment is useful. Strong stagecraft and creative problem solving abilities desired.
  • Leadership Skills: A strong, supportive team leader capable of managing a large group and working well under pressure.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Able to work effectively with performers, crew, and local venue staff, with clear and calm communication.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Advance Coordination: In collaboration with the Advancing Team, work with each venue's technical team to communicate the production's requirements and confirm load-in, setup, and show schedules.
  • Rehearsals & Tech: Oversee rehearsals and manage technical rehearsals. Coordinate with the lighting, sound, and backstage crew to maintain the show's high production values.
  • Load-In/Load-Out Management: Coordinate smooth load-in, setup, and strike in each venue, adhering to tight schedules.
  • Show Running: Manage the show from the side of stage, call any key cues and navigate a backstage track to ensure a flawless performance.
  • Company Management: Support the company members on the road, ensuring a positive touring environment and attending to logistics and morale.
  • Health & Safety: Enforce health and safety protocols, and respond promptly to any issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve technical or logistical challenges at each venue, including ticketing.
