Job Summary

Cracking Slate is seeking a Luton-based Artist/Facilitator to join The Future is Now, a creative project for Year 4 & 5 students imagining the future of their community.

Job Description

The Future is Now is a new workshop series for Year 4 & 5 students to explore what they would like their local community to look like in 5 years time through creative writing, music and drama.

We're looking for a Luton-based Facilitator to work alongside the Lead Facilitator in both the design and delivery of the project. This is a brilliant opportunity for an emerging practitioner who's passionate about nurturing creativity, community, and supporting young people to find their voice. You may have a background as an artist and be interested in developing your facilitation skills, or have experience working with communities but not in schools. This role will give you practical experience planning and delivering a series of workshops into Luton schools.

Fee: £600 total, 5 days @ £120 per day (9am-5pm)

1 day workshop planning with the Lead Facilitator

3 days project delivery in schools

1 day public sharing and evaluation

At Cracking Slate, we are guided by our core principles, known as our Guiding Lights:

  • Creating an Enriching Environment: We strive to provide a fulfilling and enriching experience for both participants and practitioners.
  • Encouraging Play and Experimentation: We promote play and experimentation within all aspects of our work.
  • Respecting Individual Journeys: We respect everyone's unique journey and experiences that have brought them to where they are today.
  • Open and Honest Communication: We communicate openly and honestly about the challenges we face.
  • Active Listening and Engagement: We listen to each other and engage with each other's ideas.
