ScriptEM are currently looking for a friendly, creative and proactive Paid Intern to support our Free Playwriting Course at Blackfriars Theatre, Boston (Lincolnshire), across in-person and online events. We are currently looking for a friendly, creative and proactive Paid Intern to join ScriptEM, to support our Free Playwriting Course at Blackfrairs Theatre, Boston (Lincolnshire), across in-person and online events.

This placement is ideal for students, recent graduates or individuals interested in working in theatre, culture and/or educational environments.

This is a paid placement designed to provide insight into arts facilitation and cultural engagement, with a specific focus on theatre, in which the intern will receive mentoring and hands-on experience in the delivery of an arts education project.

An opportunity to gain hands on experience in developing and delivering arts learning activity, this placement will help one individual to discover their voice as facilitator, whilst building relationships with leading regional cultural organisations.

Job Requirements

Ages 18+ with a right to work in the UK. No previous experience is necessary. We are looking for a friendly and approachable individual, with a can-do attitude, based in or close to Boston. You will be fully briefed by the team so you are confident in your role.

This position will consist of:
Assisting 4 playwriting workshops at Blackfriars Theatre, Boston
Assisting 1 x 2 hour online playwriting social
1 x 1 hour online mentoring session with ScriptEM founder at the beginning of the project
1 x 1 hour online group mentoring session with ScriptEM founder and other Paid Interns, at the end of the project

£480 total fee inclusive of all expenses.

Applicants must be available on the following Wednesday evenings for in-person sessions (6-9pm) at Blackfriars Theatre: 7th October, 4th November, 18th November, 2nd December.

Role to begin 07/10/26

Job Responsibilities

Assisting in session set up and take down
Supporting learners during creative education sections, across accessibility and inclusivity
Helping in delivery of learner evaluation processes
Contributing ideas to the evolution of the education project, including developing & leading writing materials and exercises
Discovering your voice as facilitator through mentoring and hands-on opportunities
Taking leadership in creativity
Providing advocacy for ScriptEM, partners and the project
